How Did Concern for One Community Help to Relaunch Service Club?

8/16/2019

With a passion for the community of Fort Collins, in 2018, Greg Anderson has helped to relaunch a service club desperately needed in the community.
The Beginning
Originally an offshoot from Sertoma International, the Downtown Club chapter was founded on March 15, 1969.  Originally, the group was designated as a men’s only club with 25 members. Over the years, membership has included judges, attorneys, educators, military graduates, and other vital leaders in the community.  The name changed to The Downtown Club of Fort Collins in 2018, where Greg Anderson was and currently is a member.
Focused on helping at-risk youth who are in need, the club meets weekly at lunch to collaborate on ways to positively impact the community, learn new happenings in the area, and enjoy the company of other members.
Support Affects the Community
One of the ways that The Downtown Club of Fort Collins positively affects the community is by supporting organizations that help youth in need in the Fort Collins area.  Clubs such as the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County, Project Smile and Vision, CASA, Crossroads Safehouse, and Realities for Children are just a few of the local organizations the club is dedicated to helping.
In addition to financial support, The Downtown Club of Fort Collins believes in physical support.  Over the years, they have provided thousands of man-hours to service projects and organization in and around the community.  Club members are always looking for ways to serve and give back to the community.
Andersons Dedication to the Club
Greg Anderson fully believes in the club’s mission statement, “Our mission is to financially and physically support organizations that help youth and those in need in the Fort Collins area.”  With Anderson’s countless hours and financial support to The Downtown Club of Fort Collins, he fully believes in helping those in need in Fort Collins.
